Vanessa* and Rachel* (Brazilians who lived here for 5 months) left last weekend to return to Brazil. Sadly they couldn't get a work visa to stay. Needed to leave within two days of finding that out. They had bought a van a couple of months ago so needed to get rid of it. I was a bit anxious as there was no time to put on TradeMe. I said to Vanessa, 'have to get the papers and sign them' thinking I might have to sell it. Anyway in the afternoon on Thursday I went off to work. Came home in the evening and Rachel ran out to meet me in the drive. She said, 'Barbara, the van, the van, sold' I said, 'How?' Vanessa went in to the Back Packers in the city and asked if anyone was interested in buying a van. An italian guy who had arrived 30 minutes before said he would be interested. They settled on a good price and even though the Registration expired on Thursday the guy said he would fix it and pay for it and also the WOF only a month left but he was oging to sort that as well.
Pretty amazing! God took the load of my shoulders as well as theirs. Vanessa had prayed in the morning that the van would sell that day.
